The Association invites historians of all disciplines to submit proposals for the 2018 Annual Meeting. We welcome proposals on a wide array of topics in Southern, American, African, European, Asian, and World History. We encourage proposals from related areas of interest to historians, such as innovative pedagogy, historical research methods, digital archives & databases, and public history. We welcome historians at all phases of their careers, from graduate students to retired faculty. Presentations are limited to twenty minutes.

Proposals for complete sessions are encouraged, but individual proposals are also welcome. Use the SCHA Facebook page to connect with other members for panels. All presenters must be, or become, members of the SCHA. For membership dues and privileges please see: scha1931.org

Send proposals and brief C.V. to: scha.history@gmail.com

The deadline for proposals is January 5, 2018 at 8pm. If your proposal is accepted, you will be notified by January 29. Deadline for submitting papers to session chairs is February 26, 2018.
The committee is arranging hotel rooms and a Friday night event. See you in Columbia, SC in 2018!

Call for Session Chairs/Commentators: SCHA frequently needs members who are interested in helping out at the annual meeting by chairing sessions. If you are attending the annual meeting in 2018 but not presenting a paper we hope you will consider submitting yourself as a session chair/commentator. If interested please submit your name, your research areas and what kind of sessions you might be comfortable chairing outside those specialties (i.e. graduate student papers on any topic, Latin America, women’s history - any time period, etc.).

Please notify us of your interest by Friday, January 5, 2018 at 8pm by emailing scha.history@gmail.com. Please include session chair/commentator in your email header.
